We flew into Prague in the evening, checked into the hotel and had dinner nearby. The next day we did some sight seeing in Prague. We stayed in Prague for two nights total so we were there for two full days as well.... it turned out to be just enough time to see the city.
Below is the famous clock in the main square. Every hour it chimes and the little windows above the face open up and little dancing puppets come out. We had a drink and a snack nearby so we could watch it happen.
After some wandering around we were pretty hungry. We found a nice little cafe by the river and had lunch. Here is Stephanie concentrating hard on figuring out what is edible!
After lunch we took a little river boat tour on a boat that looked like this... it was good timing because as soon as we were in the boat it started to rain... lucky for us it quit by the time the boat tour was over!
After the boat tour we wandered around some more and I took pictures of random buildings that I found interesting.
The building below is actually quite famous.... but I need to get my guide book out to remind me what it is!! I will update this with a bit more info someday...honest! It is on the main square.
I thought this one was pretty.... not sure if it is significant or not. It was near the main square too.
Cheeky Scott. Very cheeky.
The next night we boarded an overnight train to Budapest. Because we went through a few countries in the night we were woken up to show our passports! Not a pleasant experience to say the least. We had a cabin on a sleeper car. I took a picture of the outside of the train but I never did get a picture of the inside.... dang! It was actually pretty comfortable and I would have slept fine if it wasn't for the passport police.
Budapest is actually two cities on opposite sides of a river.... Buda and Pesht. It is a pretty place but bigger than Prague and thus missing some of it's charm.
If you are dying to see more pictures of Prague and Budapest that I haven't labeled here you go: Pictures from Scott Stewart
That's it for now..... more soon I promise!
